Making A Movie
August 18, 2010
Get Started!
Want to create your own movie project, but you’re still in doubt and confused about how to start and what to do? Believe me, the only impediment on your way is your own head and nothing more! Don't create illusions for yourself, just start working on yourself!
If you still haven’t got a camera, buy one! Buy it on E-bay for $200 - $2000. Start with a simple one. Make some short clips, create a sequence, and try to make a simple plot. Shoot everything and everyone around you.
When I was starting out with my Panasonic gs320 dv, I was shooting people and cars on the streets, the forest and dogs. People thought I was a madman! But, who cares? If you're thinking about working in the movie industry, you're already MAD! In time you will find that you're growing. And remember a sentence that might change your life:
“If we are afraid of being knocked around, there will be no great men. We will have no scholars, no scientists, no artists, no movies...”
After you create a sequence of your simple story, try to make a real scenario - a movie script. Download some scripts, read them and refer to them. If you’re having difficulty writing a movie script, visit Writing A Movie Script.
And remember, this is only the beginning. Turn your vision into a tangible object (paper), get copyright protection and... START MAKING A MOVIE!
Create new connections, prepare your plan, breakdown the script, write the treatment, and make a budget. If your idea is good you'll be lifted up to the next step. But remember, in this type of business there are too many steps to describe in just a few pages.
Comments:
I am glad I found your spirit. I have a story and script ready to make my movie in Telugu / Hebrew / English. For my movie I have composed 7 Hebrew songs and 4 Telugu songs and placed those on ITunes / YouTube / TuneCore / amazon and other online stores. I am waiting to market those songs and earn my budget. In the meantime I have found you. I have a script for English movie. I want to publish it as a novel first. Can you give me practical suggestions in this regard? I appreciate.
